Our aim, as it has been for the last 90 years, is to improve the quality of life in our beautiful and historic market town and to provide a focus and a meeting of minds for those who share our concerns.
Whether you are new to Berkhamsted, or have lived here for many years, you are welcome to come to join us. We hope that our wide range of activities means that there is something for everyone. Whether you would like to come along to a talk about current issues or express your concerns about developments in the town – we want to provide a way for you to get involved. We aim to be positive in our approach, and try to work with all levels of local government.
However, we are politically neutral and strictly independent and we can be robustly critical, particularly in our responses to development and in our vision for the future of our town. Our influence reflects not only the quality of our work, but the influence of our members. Please join us and help to maintain and enhance our much-loved town. The more members we have the more we can achieve. We aim to respond to the concerns of our members.
Do let us know what bothers you. Are you concerned about litter and graffiti, unsightly shop fronts and signs, inappropriate planning applications, the neglect of historic buildings, the replacement of paving stones with tarmac?
