“Castle Fields – £500k : I’m in !” : an evening talk by James Moir on Thu 19th February

28th January, 2026
This talk by Berkhamsted Castle Trust trustee (and BCA Life member !), James Moir is to promote and raise awareness of the appeal by the Berkhamsted Castle Trust – assisted by the Castle Fields Interest Group – to repay a generous loan of £500,000 by a local benefactor to purchase 30 acres of land off of New Road, Berkhamsted – known as ‘Castle Fields’. James will talk about Berkhamsted Castle Trust’s vision for the fields as part of a ‘Prince’s Park’ project to set Berkhamsted Castle in the context of a royal deer park that was established in the thirteenth century.

James would like to explore ways in which the BCA might assist in fundraising projects, so please come armed with ideas !

The talk will be in the Clock Room in the Town Hall, starting at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday 19th February.
