21Jun24 update
The event took place last night and it was streamed as promised.
The room was filled and we had over one dozen viewers on the live stream.
The link below now takes you to a recording.
In case you need help in identifying the candidates in the rather wide angle picture they are as follows (left to right):
Victoria Collins, Liberal Democrats
Nigel Gardner, Conservative
Paul de Hoest, Green Party
Mark Patten, Social Democrat Party
Saba Poursaeedi, Reform
Rob Wakely, Labour (substituting for the actual candidate)
At the Lectern:
Susan Johnson, Berkhamsted Citizens Association
Liz Carlile, Facilitator
This is the first time we have live streamed a BCA event. Sound quality and video presence left something to be desired but at least it is on the record in 21st C style.
Pre-event post:
The Berkhamsted Citizens Association will be hosting its traditional ‘General Election Hustings’ on Thursday 20th June in the Wellcome Great Hall of Berkhamsted Town Hall, starting at 8 p.m. (Doors open at 7.30 p.m.) This is always a popular event and, due to the Town Hall’s fire regulations, the number of attendees is limited. Therefore PLEASE COME EARLY to secure your place ! Here is the poster you may have seen around town.
All of the candidates for the new parliamentary constituency of HARPENDEN & BERKHAMSTED are being invited to attend, for what promises to be an interesting and informative discussion. The candidates will be given equal time to present themselves and their party’s aims and intentions, should they be elected. Questions from the public must be submitted in advance via the BCA’s Chairman (by e-mail to chairman@berkhamstedcitizens.org.uk). If time permits, there will be also be an opportunity to take questions from the audience.
If you are unable to attend in person for any reason, including seating limit, please note that a live stream is planned. Click here.
